Leaving BT & emails

Go to solution

I am leaving BT shortly and am aware that I can continue with basic email.  I have seen different info through BT links.  One says that your email will downgrade automatically, another says you will need to apply for this and on telephoning BT the person didn’t know but asked a colleague and came back and said I would need to go online through BT.com and apply for premium mail and then downgrade. Totally confused!!!

Shoud have said that the new company are dealing with the transfer etc so I don’t need to contact BT about leaving.  They are aware of this and I have had the ‘sorry you are going’ email.

you just wait until BT contact you to say sorry you are leaving and you will then be given option to move to premium email or do nothing and be moved to basic email

Have had that email. It says that email would be downgraded but the link from that says in bold you need to order it when cancelling broadband.

The massage in the link needs to be updated as it is no longer the case that you need to order it.

When you leave BT your email account(s) will be automatically "downgraded" to BTMail Basic.
