For this afternoons Leicester vs. Wasps game there appears to be three different versions aired.
432 BT Sport 3 HD - Blue Logo in Dolby Digital
465 BT Sports Extra 1 HD - BT Sports Extra 1 logo standard Stereo. On guide.
470 BT Sports Extra 6 HD - BT Sport 3 HD Clear Logo standard Stereo. Not on guide.
What's the difference (except for the logos and sound format)?
Well I believe it's probably because
470 is used to simulcast the program on BT Sport 3 in full screen - BT sport 3 often broadcast with the programming supplemented by an L bar of. Sports information so as a compromise BT have been proving the full screen option on Sport Xtra 6 (470).
Sport Xtra 1 .. Is available to BT Sport Lite subscribers. So as on Saturday afternoons the rugby moves off BT Sport 1 to accommodate the Football programming onto a channel in this case BT Sport 3 which is only available to full BT Sport pack subscribers. So the simulcast of the rugby on Sport Xtra 1 enables those with BT Sport Lite to watch.
By the way the rugby was also broadcast on 433 the BT Sport 4K channel.
432 is full screen when showing live sport (and adverts) plus I understand when showing a program for the very first time plus normally between midnight and breakfast time - they don't bother to turn the simulcast off on 470 unless there is a need to use it for a genuine extra stream.
