A few questions

Go to solution
Hey All;

A few simple questions:

Currently a Sky customer - looking to switch.
Currently a BT Infinity 2 customer; using a 3rd party router (ASUS RT-AC3200) as the HH5 is ... Rubbish!

I am interested in singing up for the UltraHD pack for BT TV with multi-room and have a few questions:

1.) is a TV ariel really needed for this - I assume so, for the free view channels?

2.) Would the ariel be needed in both rooms if I used multi room.

3.) Do I need a Ethernet cable in the second room or is the YouView box wireless

4.) Can I use the custom router or does it have to be the HH5?

5.) are there the +1 catchup channels?

1. Yesa good aerial is requires
2. You need to distribute the signal. If strong you can use a two way splitter. If weak you need an amplifier
3. Ethernet. You can use powerline or a good quality wireless ethernet bridge (not officially supported)
4. Yes it must support IGMP multicast or it wont work with internet channels
5. Youview has a different catch up concept you can view old programs from the guide

I'll just add to this:-

4. The Asus will probably be just fine as Asus have a good record for IPTV compatability.

5. ITV, Channels 4 & 5 have +1 on freeview along with the catchup mentioned.

No. Every zone has a different transmitter that drives the aerial requirements
Look on ukfreetv or similar for suggestions
