Re: Am I really getting 4k?

Well well well.....

Just factory reinstalled the box and now it is showing as 2160p50.

But the question remains as to what caused it to show 1080.  Well, I will see if it does it again. Meanwhile, thanks for your responses.

Perhaps the box needed a restart after the changes/update

Re: Am I really getting 4k?

Right, it has happened again.

Just checked the info and it says "PC 1920x1080p50", whereas earlier it said "UHD 2160p50"

What on earth is making it do this? Nothing has changed. I just brought the box out of standby to find it has reverted to 1080p again.

Oh dear, there really is a problem.

Just watching the Man Utd game on 431 and it looks like film, almost slow motion like. And the halfway line keeps splitting. It looks like when you try and play a game on a PC whose graphics card isnt powerful enough.

Have you tried using a different HDMI?

Re: Am I really getting 4k?

The problem is that the  TV is brand new and the box is brand new. I have no way of determining if it is the TV or the box that is at fault.

I am ringing technical support but dread phoning india as I can never understand what they are saying.

Now I have put the original HDMI back and have got picture back.

Is this the box or the TV do you reckon?

I already took a TV back because of bruising on the screen, I don't want to take it back again.
