My Sony Xperia XZ1 running Android 8.0 cannot find my BT YouView box, a Humax DTRT 2100. I have spoken to YouView support and followed their guidance by doing a factory reset on the box, and by removing and re-installing the YouView app. I have also restarted my BT hub. Meanwhile I have successfully removed and reconnected my iPad, without any problem at all. Can anyone advise?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Are you able to connect the BTTV app to your Youview box ?
I've just downloaded the app, and it connects to my YouView box without difficulty. But the YouView app still can't see it.

I am still frustrated by this problem Today I connected my wife's Android 7 phone to the box without the least difficulty, but my phone steadfastly refuses to find it. What can possibly cause this?
I'm having the same issue with android oreo 8.0.0, did you ever find a solution?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no that didn't work. How could your phone find the box if it didn't have a network connection?
I'm hoping the imminent arrival of Android 9 will fix it.
Because it only disabled Mobile Network and left WiFi on, this worked to find the box and youview app still works even after turning Airplane Mode back off again.

Oh right I forgot airplane mode only disables the mobile network. I'll try it once more for luck.
Thanks, Phil
Yes, please let me know if you managed to get your box found, remember to switch airplane mode back off again.
