Asus RT-N66U router setup help for BT TV Box

Hi All,

Does anyone have some setup guides to tweak the settings on my Asus N66U router. It's connected to my white openreach box.

It have the latest stock firmware and the WiFi and internet is working fine. Even with cables running into a switch box in another room, the computer and other boxes work great in the other room.

But replacement G4 bt box 500gb turned up today 7/8/18 and after plugging everything in to it and it's internet cable into the switch box, I get no TV start up.

It starts up and goes into a big blue screen with many advance features which can be tested with the hand held remote acting like it's keyboard!

Hard to explain, but I have taken a picture of the screen, but don't know how to post it on here.

Old box worked fine until it packed in and this 'new' replacement does not work.

Anyone help with setting up for the TV to work with its services. I have a HD package with them without sky option.

Should be able to do it using the Camera icon above text text box.

But there is no text text, I dont know , what that is!

I have managed to upload a picture in my profile, but its gone to this place.

I dont know how to get that picture to the thread.

Infact, I can't even find anything on the thread to edit my original question or add a link.

By text box I mean the box you just typed your reply into.

An alternative might be google drive with a link posted here.

 

To edit your post it's the 3 dots at the top right of the message box, but only before someone else post a reply.

Updated the photo and hopefully this will work!  This is the scree, that comeup once the box has been turned on.

It seems, it can be fixed, but only by tweaking the settings on the N66U.

So grateful for anyone who has done this, can help?

This has got nothing to do with the Asus router imho.

What your seeing , I think , is an engineers setup screen for the Youview box & I'd guess that maybe this is a refurbed unit that wasn't completely set up.

I would suggest you go to the Youview forum & post that image there & ask them. Goto Youview community

You'd need to create an account there.

 

Also contact BT support where you got the replacement from & explain & ask for another.

Thanks Tim,

I have spent a few hours talking to the call centre when the package arrived yesterday. They keep on blaming the internet and my setup.

Explained the screen issue until I have gone blue in the face!

Dont know who else to ask!

I have gone into your page and sent a write up on how this box turned up and why I have been sent on a wild goose chase trying to fix my internet!

Very grateful for any help.
