BT Box Pro Problems

Hi, on my Neighbour's BT Pro box, the Fast Forward and Rewind is very jerky, like a when you Rewind on I-Player (or a 70's VHS Machine!), making it difficult to find the part I'm looking for.

My old BT Youview DTR-T4000, has nice smooth Fast Forward and Rewind. I don't want to get a newer box that's worse than my old one.

Is this a one-off, or are they all this bad?

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

I suspect that is the norm, as mine is the same.

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

That's a shame, it makes the FF/REW almost useless, and is REALLY irritating.

I'll stick with my perfectly-performing DTR T4000 thanks.

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

My new box also has this very poor Fast Forward and Rewind performance.

Has this not been fixed?

Is it really going to stay like this?

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

Well, it's made by a French company, and at the risk of sounding racist, they're not big on admitting their mistakes.

Wouldn't hold your breath waiting for improved software.  Maybe, if they do upgrade it, they'll fix that video artefact where people's heads have a kind of Halo effect around them which blurs the background when it moves.

I am also not on the edge of my seat...

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

incase you didn't know, sagem doesn't make the youview software, only base bootloader and drivers.

main youview software is by youview but customised by BT.

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

That's useful to know, but in that case, why doesn't the DTR-T4000 (Humax)  have the hopeless Fast Forward and Video artefacts ?

Presumably, better designed hardware....

Re: BT Box Pro Problems

It's very likely that the sagemcom box is still new.

BT only ever had humax and talktalk only ever used Huawei.

Possibly teething issues as the sagemcom box is a much faster unit. Quite possibly the video gpu is different and drivers to drive it are much different also.

In time I am sure it will improve.

I'll get back on the edge of my seat then...
