BT Sport - only works if wired?

So , reading these forum messages there appears to be a clear outcome...

BT sport doesn't work with power lines nor WIFI.

I've tried both and no cigar. And that's just crazy with a download of 47 and upload of 8.
I've also connected a spare airport express to the Humax you view - doesn't help even though it enables almost the full IP profile.

I've tried it with my time capsule and then with home hub. Still no cigar ( ok, that's the last time ill use a smoking reference)

No issues at all with any other service .

C'mon BT make it work or there's no reason to buy the additional TV services.

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

BT Sport and the other Extra TV channels do work perfectly fine over powerlines I have been using them and had no pauses or anything on HD since day one. I only use the basic simplier networks ones also but get a constant 55 meg down, 15 up. BT don't officially support them as various factors which could cause them to fail, dodgy wiring, separate ring mains are a couple that spring to mind.

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

Do you run those off the home hub or a different router?

I've spent the last 3hours with various setups trying to get it past the 'black screen'. No joy.

My power lines give 35/5

I can't explain why it doesn't work

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

I take it you haven't tried directly to the router (you need to actually troubleshoot the issue). Try it it before you move on. Also, do you get an error code?

I was receiving a black screen when trying to watch BT Sport when it first popped onto my EPG about 10 days ago. There was also an error code of IPC6001. A quick google around and the solution was to reset the Youview box in maintenance mode: Link to PDF. I used option 4.

I can confirm that BT sport 1 & 2 SD & HD, ESPN SD & HD, as well as the 18 extra channels are all working on stock Powerline 'Simpler Networks' adapters without issue. I'm on Infinity.

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

It does work very well with PLAs. As the other poster suggests try a direct Ethernet connection to the HH to check that it actually works.

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

im running over powerlines but the box just does not want to work.
Im using a netgear managed switch/ router..
Cant figure out what the problem is, I connected straight to the router with no change.
Ill try direct to the modem later today, although I doubt that will work.

Use the Home Hub - you might find it will work then

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

Works fine for me using HH3 and HH4 so as stuartrogerson mentions you need to go back to the basic recommended router first.

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

Multicast requires HH to work
(Before a pedant comes along I am aware some people can use other routers but in general it is HH or nothing)

Re: BT Sport - only works if wired?

I'm using home hub and power lines with no problems, not skipped or paused once, even with kids on YouTube upstairs. Pretty impressed to be honest apart from fact that you can't record the Internet channels yet.
