BT TV Ariel

Go to solution

Hi,

I am now a bt you view customer but have previously been a sky customer with a dish etc.and can only watch freeview channels on using an old sky box. The aerial cable/sky cable we have that seems to produce the freeview channels on the sky box does not seem to work with the YouView box when I plug it in.

Any tips to get all freeview channels on the YouView box?

Thanks

You need to get a regular TV aerial installed for the BT box and should NOT plug in a Sky dish feed into a tv aerial socket.

Hi @mglmour, sorry that won't work your TV box needs to be connected to a TV aerial. We've partnered with a specialist aerial installer called Total Support Group who will fit an Aerial for £80 for BT TV customers.

Point of nomenclature: "freeview" is specifically free to view channels from terrestrial televison. Free to view (FTV) channels from satellite television are called freesat or freesat from Sky .
