BT TV Freeview box is whining

My BT TV Freeview box has started whining. It's the latest type I think DTR2100. It is like a high pitched whine and normally lasts anything from a few seconds to about 5 minutes. Is there a fix for this do you know? It's not a 'known issue' on the BT TV box 'troubleshooter', which is completely useless.

Sounds like the hard drive may be failing.

Yes it's doing it again now. I thought they were SSDs though? High pitched scratching sound this morning. Is there a BT person on here who can point me in the right direction to get a replacement please?

You’re going to have to call BT on 0800800150 (or just 150 from your BT line) and select the appropriate option. It may be a bit of a wait.
