BT Youview Remote Not Working

Hi

My remote control for the YouView box has stopped working. It has not been damaged in any way and was working fine before the weekend. I have unsynced it and resynced it, changed the batteries but nothing is working. 

I have only had it since the end of March so I would not be happy if I have to pay to replace it because I have seen on the BT Shop that they are £19.99. 

The remote version is RC3124705/05B and the item number is 077143.

Is there anything I can do about this or am I going to have to shell out the £19.99 for a new remote?

Try looking at the IR emitter through a smartphone camera and press a button on the remote. If it is working you should see the flash on the phone.

Try power-cycling the Youview box itself.  In fact, does the Youview box still respond to the buttons on it being pressed?

Yeah I had tried that already and the remote is not flashing. It would seem it is completely dead. 

Yes, all the buttons on the YouView box work.
