Box Pro - what did the message say?

Go to solution

Switched on the Box Pro this morning and it was on channel 465 (HDR channel).

A message displayed at the top of the screen with something about channel 433.

But the Box Pro own graphics blocked out most of the message and it cleared with the clearing of the box grpahics.

Anyone any idea what the message said?

Switching the box off and on again does not re-display it.

Odd. Not seen this message myself on my Box Pro. Did you leave your box on either of these channels last night?

Yes - it was left on 465 overnight so powered on with that channel.

The message came on then but not since.

Just switched the box on again and the message came up again - something about picture quality and channel 433.

When I cleared the boxes own menu it cleared the text too - so still can't read the full message.

Two thoughts.

What happens when there is a 4K SDR broadcast  but not a 4K HDR broadcast of a BT Sport programme. Obviously it would be broadcast on 433 but what if anything appears on 465 at that time.

If you have been watching HDR  on 465 and the transmission ends , are there any messages broadcast ?

Only thoughts , not based upon any actual observations.

So far only programmes on 465 have been those in HDR. The short HDR promo has continued at other even times when 433 is active in SDR.

What I have wondered is how do you set a series link for all the Premier League?

If the match is not on 465 then it will not record it - so you have to have two links which is on for 433 and one for 465.

The download speed here is then exceeded as those two alone will need nearly 60Mb/s.

I see no automatic way of doing it.

The message read:

"Looks like your current TV setup doesn't support HDR, meaning you may be experiencing reduced quality. Switch to channel 433 to get the best picture quality for you."

OK - it had switched to HDR by that time so is odd.

My assumption is that as the box was switched on while on channel 465 - the stream was still builidng when it displayed the message - this is why it cleared quickly.

My download is 49Mb/s and on the BT box is using it.

Not seen it after the first couple of times.
