Box not recording

Hi I've noticed that I've had a lot of failed recordings recently and now i cant even schedule or manually record anything. Previously recorded program playback fine.

If I press the record button on the remote while watching live tv then the light comes on the remote but nothing happens on the box. If i go into the guide i can set a reminder but i cant set a recording. Using the app i cant connect to the box - the app searches but cant connect to the box. 

I've tried retuning but no luck.

Anything else i can do, I'd prefer not to reset and lose my recordings, or does the box need replacing?

@Jonlane543 Welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I have seen this problem before and the only way to resolve it was to factory reset the box. Make sure to choose the option to keep your recordings so they'll not be deleted. Post back and let me know how you get on.

Thanks, i dont see an option to keep recordings. I go to settings -> factory reset

Then i just get the option to reset or dont reset with a warning that this will delete my recordings. Is there another menu option somewhere?

@Jonlane543 No problem, use the buttons on the box instructions as the remote will always delete the recordings.

I've completed the reset now but there's no change. All of the same symptoms persist.

Hi @Jonlane543,

Thank you for sending in your details. I'm sorry your unable to set recording on your BT TV box. It does sound like it could be an issue with the hard drive. I know for the details you have sent in that you haven't tried a full factory reset as of yet.

Please can you give that ago? Unfortunately this does mean that you'll lose you recordings.

If you follow the steps on the second link in How do I reset my BT TV box? you'll find the step on how to carry out the full factory reset.

Please post back an let me know how you get on?

The full reset has done the trick for recordings. I still cant pair my phone or tablet with the box though. When i search for the box the app just says it couldnt find the box. They're on the same network.
