Which YouView box do you have?

How is it connected to your TV - HDMI or SCART?

Do you have it connected via an amp/sound system?

Which channels do you see this issue on?

Meant to add: you aren't accidentally pressing the AD (audio description) button? That can cause the sound to go if there is no Audio Description. I've done this myself a couple of times.

Just noticed you said the remote control doesn't respond either...

Try the tips in the youview support link I posted.

If that doesn't help:

Make sure the software on you YouView box is up-to-date.

Press YouView button on remote and then scroll to Settings, Device Management.

On Device Management select Software Update and then the 'get update' button.

Set Eco-mode on the Device Management screen to Low.

Make sure the batteries in your remote are good.
