Can Ethernet cable cause issues with internet channels on the youview box?

Go to solution

Hey,

I have recently gotten BT tv with the youview box and it works fine if I use a shorter cable. However I want to connect it to my tv downstairs and the bt hub is upstairs, so I purchased a new cable off amazon "Duronic Black 25m CAT6 FTP Professional Gold Headed Shielded Network Cable - Black - High Speed 500MHz Premium Quality Cat6 / Patch / Ethernet / Modem / Router / LAN" however I can now not watch internet channels. I still get on demand channels just fine, but the internet channels give me error IPC 6011.

Is it possible that this cable could be the cause of the issues? It seems odd since I do get internet on it just fine.

Thanks for the help

Hi. As you are getting On Demand it would seem highl unilikely there is an issue with the cable.

There is a self help page on IPC codes http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/47441/~/%27ipc%27-error-codes-on-youview I would give that a try.

That cable looks fine.

I'm guessing it is not plugged into an aerial?
