My YouView has been off-line now for a week or so because I have not been able to get into the settings interface to "retune" the channels. When the box configures it remains on a black screen and won't let me access anything. When I select "guide" on the remote it tells me to retune and gives me an error code 305. The information window on the box is completely blank. I've checked my TV signal and the stength is consistently up around the 90% mark. Everytime I reboot it hangs on the "Please Wait - nearly ready" page. When I switch it off and try again next day it's the exact same procedure. Really frustrated and losing patience with it. Any ideas? Thanks.
When the box is powered-on, hold the round button at the front in for about 10 seconds until it shows 'hello - please wait'. With luck it might come back to life and will retune. (That's for the 'old style' box. I assume there's a similar button on top of the 'new style' box.)
If not then might be worth a look at:
See the section for BT boxes at the bottom of this.
I hope you get it working again.
HI - thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I am no further forward, although aware that I may be required to stump up for a new aerial, which I'm both surprised and disappointed by. Why does the Freeview work absolutely fine yet YouView suddenly doesn't after 12 months of little or no probs. Will keep trying.
If your actual TV tuner - not the YouView box - works fine with existing aerial feed then there isn't a problem with your aerial. Make sure you check this. If that looks ok then maybe you could mention what your cabling layout is for the aerial and what, if anything, has changed since the YouView box stopped working.
