Re: Failed to Record

Two failed recordings tonight and one yesterday. This issue has been going on for some time and I have lost confidence in the box completely now.

Re: Failed to Record

I have just got back after two weeks away. The box was set to record a number of programs, including Curious Creatures and Richard Osman's Games (both of these were due every week night). We went away Tuesday 12th June, and programs were recorded until Thursday 14th. From Friday 15th every program failed to record. I have to ask... What is the point of having the box ?

Re: Failed Recording

Two more failures last night, Hotel Inspector on C5 and Supernatural on E4. Other scheduled recordings that overlapped those shows worked fine.

Scheduling clash? You can only record two things at a time and if something starts early or overruns you may get a clash that is not obvious when setting them in the EPG.

Re: Failed Recording

No obvious clash, I recorded the football on bbc which worked and overlapped with hotel inspector, but that shouldn't cause a problem as you can normally record 2 shows. Then later Newsnight recorded but Supernatural didn't. Looking at the recordings they're all the correct length, so it isn't a scheduling conflict, unless somethings gone wrong with being able to record 2 shows at the same time

Yep getting this too and I have the new UHD box. I have been with Sky and virgin and once settled I never had the kind of issues I've with BT

I've just had an email saying they are putting their prices up. Carefully considering my options.

The problem is that Youview is a separate entity in it's own right.  Unlike Sky it's not owned or controlled BT.  It's like me complaining to Richer Sounds about the software on my TV when in fact the software is controlled by the manufacturer.

It doesn't make it any less palatable of course, I'm simply explaining the logistics.

Re: Failed Recording

And therin lies the rub Jim Lad.

I should really sit down and think about whether all the malfunctioning hassle we had throughout the first 6 months of my BT TV contract, along with this latest mega-glitch, is actually worth the not inconsiderable saving we made switching from Sky to BT in the first place.
