HI,
Make sure in the Youview box set-up you set the RF(Radio Freq) to switch through, or the signal never gets any further than the box, never to your TV. It's caught me out a couple of times...
But you seems to be saying that aerial direct into TV gives no tuning or channels! that's very strange, just go in to set-up and it will find all you channels, or usually does.
Hope it helps..
Mel.
I have a similar problem. I can tune my TV in when the aerial is plugged into the TV but when I swap them over they don't work
Maybe a bit more detail as to exactly what you've tried would be helpful.
Hi, Sorry, I was relying on the conversation that there had been previously.
I have tried:
all options for retuning numerous times
unplugging the tv
tuning the TV using the main aerial as opposed to the through the YouView box
I have changed the internet password in line with the new box on the tv and the box.
I have changed the main aerial pluv.
My latest thought was to change the plug on the cable that goes from the digi box to the tv and plan to do this evening.
If your tv is working with Aerial, I’d Try Aerial to youview box then extra Aerial cable from output of youview to TV (check in settings for RF out is set) and I’d try another HDMI cable possibly a better quality one ( but not at the stupid prices some shops charge ) .
Also I always use decent Aerial plugs all metal not plastic or thin aluminium b&q sell them and a good quality cable ( I do miss Maplins for these occasions )
Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. My plan had to change the aerial plug on the RF lead but discovered it was a 'moulded' type of plug.
However, I checked the settings on my YouView box and it was set to Off. I changed it and Hey! Presto! Success!
What I don't understand though is why that setting changed.
Anyway, problem solved so thank you so much for your help.
Glad it’s all ok now, it’s a small possibility that a software update may have changed it to off or it could have been just a software glitch/bug
