I just received my new YouView box to replace the black Vision box and I nipped home at lunch to swap over and get it started.
I had to return to work with the 'YouView - Nearly ready' splash screen and the box displaying 'Please Wait', this had been like that for 20 minutes before I had to go.
Is this normal?
Yes...thats not right!
Normally its a very short time...maybe a minute...I hate to suggest switcing off and trying again?
Unplug the power cable from the back of the box for a minute. Plug back in and start again.
[Of course, as you will have done, check all the connections of cables etc are in order; and that your BT YV account is fully provisioned by going to Bt.com
If in doubt of that key point, ring up the helpdesk and ask them].

Rang the helpline and powered it off etc, no joy.
An engineer is booked to swap the box out on Saturday.
Just as an aside, the box I recieved looks nothing like the ones that crop up on adverts. It's manual was printed in 2014 and has Kermit & Miss Piggy on the cover stating that the Muppet film would be available in HD in August.
Very similar dimensions to the black Vision box it 'replaces'.
