Re: Missing channels on Youview

We have just plugged in our Youview box and started our BT TV experience.

Our TV only seems to find half of the channels it previously was tuned into when retuned via the Youview box. When I directly connect it to the aerial it refinds all the previous channels - which it then retains when re-plugged via the Youview box. The Youview box only seems to affect the tuning process!

Is there a fix for this?

Re: Missing channels on Youview

To be honest it doesn't help at all - the help you direct to refers to missing channels tuned into the Youview tuner NOT missing channels viewed through the TV's tuner.

Re: Missing channels on Youview

Hi David,

Very sorry I may well be missing something here but I can't see a 'contact us' link in your profile to be able to email you, even though I am logged in? Would be really grateful if you could point me in the right direction please. Apologies, I don't use this forum as much as I should so not certain what I'm doing! 🙂

Thanks a lot.

Old thread though this be, I had hopes that the above would work for me.  But it didn't.  Our transmitter is full freeview (Waltham).  The TV tunes everything in but the YV box doesn't.  I've not studied the entirety of what's missing, but Freeview Ch 20/Com4 (UK Drama) and the rest of Com4 also Com5 are definitely missing.

I get to choose my region (East Midlands) after the tuning has finished but that seems to me to be an irrelevance.

Signal strength on the TV when in Aerial\ mode is 61%.

Does anyone know if BT has admitted to a tuner fault/weakness or similar in the YV box?  All firmware up to date etc.

Re: Missing channels on Youview

BTW, also tried a UHF booster to no avail. YV box is two years old.

Re: Missing channels on Youview

Sometimes a signal can be too strong - not in your case. Other times you can pick up the wrong region (if you are on the boundary between regions)

My experience is that you need to feed the aerial directly into YouView box. If you are using an old aerial fly lead then replace with a new shielded version. As YV+ box has 2 tuners it needs a 'stronger' signal than your single tuner TV.
