NOT UHD I'm afraid

I am currently watching the Community Shield on the new YV box. I have checked the display settings and it's only showing at 1080p and not 4k. I have also checked the sky box and it looks like BTHD has downgraded there normal HD to make UHD look better. I'll be cancelling and sending back the box.

Re: NOT UHD I'm afraid

You need to check you are in the right hdmi input to get 4k, it is working fine and looks superb. If you use the wrong input (without hdcp2.2) it downscales to 1080p.

Re: NOT UHD I'm afraid

Have you tried different HDMI ports on the TV?

It's definately running in awesome UHD!

What's the best distance to sit from tv to get full benefit of ultra hd, I'm thinking of getting it but I sit very close to tv usually!

Re: NOT UHD I'm afraid

Hi, I'm running it through an amp (which is a 4k amp) I know the amp works as I run my MacBook Pro through it and I get 4k from that.

You do have a 4K TV, yes?

Also just to confirm that your 'HDMI Display Setting' is actually set to 'UHD 50fps..'?

Re: NOT UHD I'm afraid

Your amp may support the resolution but not the content protection needed (HDCP 2.2)

Re: NOT UHD I'm afraid

Hi yes it's a Sony 4k TV. The settings are set correctly on the BT YV also (as you have stated). Should I try and run the HDMi direct (bypass the amp)?
