I have just got off the phone with the BT test team regarding this, as I have had the same problem, since taking BT TV in Nov. Not impressed considering they heavily push NowTV!
Apparently it is aiming to be fixed by 31 Jan. So you will need to see if the problems continue after the end of this month, to see whether they have actually fixed it!

I am one of many that are disappointed that BT ae aware of this problem, but seem unwilling to fix it.
Pausing the stream and then restarting it has become beyond a joke!
Do you have an update in the pipeline?
