The fact that the box is brand new does not mean it was assembled and commissioned yesterday. The actual software installed may be 6 months old or even older.


It may not even be a new box, they are refurbished to a standard which includes new case parts, this makes it very difficult to distinguish between new and recycled boxes

Well 4KTVFan, it seems as though it is my Panasonic Plasma somehow causing interference as it works ok with an LCD tv. My Sky box worked fine and I’ve never had any trouble with any other IR remotes in the vicinity of the tv so to me it is a problem with the BT box, I’d have thought that they would have tested them with Plasma TVs! Got a 2 year contract with this rubbish box :o(

The Mrs won’t be happy when she gets home.

Another 5 minutes on Google and I’ve fixed it, a bit of masking tape over the IR receiver on the BT box cuts out the interference but not the remote signal.
