New Lg smart tv and youview

Please can someone help. We took delivery of a new LG smart TV this afternoon and as we are elderly and not tech savvy we paid extra to get it set up in the home. Confusion is that we are having to use two handsets. My original bt youview fir playback and recordings etc. The new handset fir netflux and apps. Its a bit confusing? Should we have to use 2?

Hi @jeanjeanie2, welcome back, and thanks for your post.

I know you can set up your BT TV remote to control some features on your TV like powering on and off, volume control, switching channels etc. I'm not sure it would enable you to use apps on your Smart TV and you would need to use the TV remote for doing that.
