Pixelation only on recordings

Hi all. We have a great free view signal and live TV has no problems. Many recordings however have bad pixelation. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

Check your signal quality and signal level in the settings menu.
 
  1. Bring up the menu with your remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Go to the Signal & Connection area and select Signal Quality

Sounds like to me you have a faulty Hard Disk on your YouView box. What happens if you pause live TV for say 20 mins and then continue viewing? If you get pixelation, then almost certainly it’s a disk issue.

Hi Keith, BBC 2 that we recently recorded and suffered pixelation problems is strength 84% quality 100%.

Hi @Hugo_b  ,

Does the recording have the same pixelation issues at the same point if played back at a different time ?If so that suggests the issue is occurring at the time of recording. 

Do you experience the problem with recordings  made at a time when you are watching another live Freeview channel without problems.

Any pattern to the problems .. eg recordings that would have been made when the Youview box would have been in standby mode.

Also need to consider what potential interference to the aerial signal could be occurring at that time. Are these recordings being made whilst other devices connected to your TV are in use  ?  Also any other cables for devices that are run in close proximity to the aerial cable that might be in use at the time.
