Re: Powerline adapters

Hi

Just ordered and received my youview box. I requested the adapters when ordering and they were delivered with the box at no extra cost.

Quick and easy to set up, Ethernet cables included. Works perfectly.

Bear in mind that it happens in a round-about way rather than directly asking if you want adapters.  They simply ask if your box will be more than a certain distance from the router.  If you click Yes, then you'll get free adapters.  If you click No, then you wont.

If you ring sales you can often get a better deal. Also bear in mind that sometimes powerlines won't work from downstairs to upstairs as you can have separate circuits for each floor.

Can you clarify please - does this mean the powerline adaptors must be on the same ring circuit or is being on a common consumer box sufficient?

yes the adapters must be on the same circuit/ fuse/MCB.  Occassionally they work but in most instances they dont.  I have had to run a seperate network cable from the bedroom to the router downstairs.
