Recording 4 shows and watch a 5th

So now Humax have launched the FVP-5000T which can record 4 shows and watch a 5th, how long will it be before BT launch a new box with the same recording function?

I can already do that. Though I do have standard Freeview PVR and Freesat PVR plumbed in as well as my BT Youview box. 🙂

Me too, freesat is a slightly better picture, I also have a USB disk on my TV 🙂

That's with two boxes though. I have read several reviews and reports that freesat had a slightly worse picture than freeview

Nope, freesat has higher data rate I believe. Consistently better on BBC channels at least.

I have to agree, the picture quality on freesat is superior to freeview.

I stand to be corrected but i believe bitrates vary from channel to channel on both platforms.

It also depends on how many channels are crammed into a multiplex as well though,  the actual channels are variable bitrate since static pictures will use less.

I guess it depends on the size of your TV and how much of a geek you are etc etc  as to whether you notice the difference. It's not that big but for show case stuff like Blueplanet it does seem better to me.

(waiting for someone to come along and prove me wrong now 🙂  )
