Recordings gone

My youview box displayed update required when turned on today, followed the instructions and looks like it did a complete reset, I hAve now lost 2 years worth of recordings at no point did it say recordings would be lost, have never had the update required screen before, is there any way of getting recordings back, seriously not happy with BT youview

After the update, has the user interface changed?  Do the screens/menus look any different to before?

No everything looks the same, just had to re-sign in to Netflix,amazon, itv hub etc. Only thing missing are the recordings

Hmm ok yes, that does sound like it did a full reset.
I was wondering whether maybe you were on the really old interface and the box was finally forcing you to update, but it's not that.
Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done to restore the recordings, and I cannot explain why it did a full reset.
