Remote Turning On Downstairs TV

Go to solution

My set up is a You View box downstairs linked to 3 upstairs televisions by a magic eyes.

This works perfectly except for one annoyance. If you turn on any of the upstairs TV's using the BT remote it also turns the downstairs television on.

Not a massive problem but, If you don’t go downstairs for awhile, it does seem wasteful and you can also sometimes here distant voices from upstairs 😉

Any thoughts or ideas much appreciated.

I would imagine the issue is with your YouView box turning on, rather than your TVs upstairs - when the YouView box comes out of standby, it'll send a signal over HDMI to the connected TV, which will cause it to turn on.  You can often disable this in the TV settings - usually known as HDMI-CEC, Anynet+, SimplLink, EasyLink, etc (depending on the make of your TV).

Spot on Darren as it was there any net plus being enabled that was causing the problem.

Thanks very much for your prompt and knowledgeable support.
