Restart recording does not work

BT Humax DTR-T2100

Remote Control RC3124705/02B

Basically, the option to restart a recording from the beginning doesn't work. When you hold down 'OK' the timer doesn't count the whole way down from 3, it stops as if the remote has been released, yet it hasn't. Anyone else had this?

I've reset the box and the remote and it still happens.

Software version 31.69.0

Component version 3.5.132

I will add that I have two other Huawei boxes that have the same software updates and two different remotes that will complete this particular operation. If the Humax wasn't so much faster when it does work, I would just replace it.

I think I'll try replacing the remote.

There is an OK button on the top of that Youview box, so you could see what happens if you hold that rather than the remote Ok button.

It does not respond to the OK button in that context. It was a good idea, perhaps someone with a working remote could confirm their top button does not respond.

I can't try it on the Huawei devices as they have only Power and -/+

Thanks, but to be fair that's different hardware with different software versions.

To be clear, this is using the OK button on top of the set top box, not the remote. (The remote will not complete the operation and the OK button on the set top box does not work in this context - it does work for other functions tested).

I appreciate your efforts but unfortunately your replies are slightly ambiguous, sorry for seeking clarification.

No from your initial post it appeared you were referring to the remote.

Holding ok on the box for me does not restart recording pressing with remote does.

Seems this is a box or software problem. Exactly the same issue with a brand new remote although the newest remote has a nicer action and possibly a better (less directional) IR blast.
