I have  B...T with Now package...... I can get  sky witness/atlantic/arts/history etc on my freeview channels.

I thought you could only get them through the Now App  What is the point of having Now when you can get these channels anyway......or if you get rid of the Now app, will channels disappear from Freeview  ?

The new BTTV packages (with NowTV)  put the Sky channels into the EPG so that you can record them, just like you can with the Freeview channels). The recording will be available as long as you are subscribed to the package (i.e. you won't be able to watch them if you cancel the package).
