720p is technically HD, if you aren't seeing that then there is something wrong with your setup.

Nothing wrong with my setup, Netflix, Amazon and 4k blu ray all work prefect and provide excellent picture quality.

You are comparing quality outputs (1080p/4K) with poor mans HD (720p) so you will see the difference. NowTV does do ok HD but it all depends on your point of reference to if it will do or not. Your point of reference is high.

Personally I do not use Now TV, but stream non BT Sport stuff legally, (or legally grey), via another site. The quality of the stream is higher than SD (720p), but falls way short of true HD. I can't see how any unicast stream will match true HD without consuming massive amounts of bandwidth.
