Tv aerial

I am due to have BT tv and internet installed and I am wondering wether I need an aerial connection for it to work?

Yes you will need an aerial for the free view channels like bbc and itv, but the subscription channels will be delivered over the internet.

Yes, all freeview channels including HD freeview channels are delivered via the aerial, regardless of what BTTV package you have.

Thanks, are the pictures good as in as good as through cable?
I only ask as whenever I think of aerials I think of the dodgy pictures we used to receive prior to cable broadband.

That would depend on the quality of the aerial and the wires connecting, I've had Sky, Virgin and BTTV over the years, picture quality was unnoticeable between them.

Would you think that if the aerial was placed in the loft rather than the roof that it may hinder performance?
