I have two identical YouView boxes and one BT TV Entertainment subscription.
Box 1 is the box that is used to view the BT TV Entertainment content.
Box 2 is used to watch and record normal Freeview programmes.
Both boxes are left in standby when not in use.
Today, for no apparent reason, BT TV Entertainment switched boxes.
The switch was reversed by removing power from both boxes and then switching Box 1 on before Box 2.
Is this a known problem?
Is there way of ensuring this cannot happen again?

If they are both connected to the broadband, then no. Whichever boots up first will connect to the BT TV server, which will lock the other one out.
Interesting as I have two boxes here with one sub - as they replaced an older one.
So I could always have both connected - and use them both at any time - but if both are on only the first on gets BT tv?
we have the exact same scenerio. The kids switch the BT content between boxes depending which TV they are using.
It's great. BT wanted me to buy another box and pay soemthing like £3 a month for an extra box subscription.
This way we just flick the box whenever we want.
Not sure exactly how the kids do it but I think they just go to the channel they want to watch and click reset
In answer to your post. you can use both boxes at the same time but only one of them will have the BT content. the othere will be youview only. but you can switch them around whenever you want without powering off.
