UHD Box dies overnight

Got a strange issue with my UHD box

Sometimes after the box has been left a while (overnight till next evening) it will not turn on, many times there is even no lights on the front and it wont turn on, I have to turn off at the switch at the back and turn back on to get the box to wake back up

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I thought maybe it was a faulty box and replaced it with a brand new v3 box but it too has now had the same problem, dead after being left and no lights, power cycle using rear switch fixes it

I am using a denon avr-x2200w amplifer and Sony KD55X8509C TV

I know my TV has the juddering issue with 4K (currently have the box in 1080p mode for this reason), could the tv also be causing this issue maybe?

Hope someone has had this same problem and has some insight

Re: UHD Box dies overnight

Can you clarify a few things.

You have experienced the problem with two different boxes --not clear on the v3 reference you use  for the second box... was the second box also a Ultra HD box supplied by BT or a different sourced  or type of box ?

Did you use the same or a second power supply unit with the second box ?

Which Home hub are you using ?

Is the Youview box connected by ethernet cable to the Home Hub ?

Precisely how regular is the problem ?

Regarding the V3 there is the model number on a white sticker on the bottom of the box which ends in V2 or V3, both are BT 4K Ultra HD boxes

Different box different power supply

Not using a home hub, with talktalk and using a talktalk router (have no internet issues, all internet tv works fine)

Ethernet cable yes

Regular, unsure, once every week maybe, sometimes more frequent and sometimes less

TV has been updated now to fix the juddering 4k problem so hope this will fix this problem too but not hopeful...

Re: UHD Box dies overnight

Are you missing any recordings due to the box not coming out of its apparent dead state or do your scheduled recordings still occur when the box is left in standby ?

Re: UHD Box dies overnight

probably related to the smart standby feature, which i have alread reported breaks the HDMI setting. Try turning that off, the box only uses 15W so the savings are minimal any way.
