We just subscribed to BT TV as a new customer and we get London news, on sky we had Southeast news and watched Welsh local news on occasion.
Where are the regions on the channel list or is there something we need to change in the settings anywhere please.
With satellite TV you can choose which region you want to see as you will be able to see a selection of regions as they are all carried in the satellite TV signal.
With YouView your freeview TV signal comes via the terrestrial TV transmitter for your local region. Some people who live on the boundary between transmitters will be able to pick a transmitter when they tune their channels. However if you live in e.g. London you won't be able to see e.g. a Welsh transmitter.
If this is an issue for you, you could use your old Sky box if you want to see various regions and the BT YouView box for freeview and the BT Sport/Extra channels.
Note that any channel in the YouView guide with blue dots under it e.g. channel 399 are delivered over your BT Broadband/Infinity connection and not the TV transmitter.
I meant to add: one other workaround for BBC channels is with the BBC iPlayer shown under 'Players and Apps' in YouView menu. In the settings for that you can set a different region.
For example you are in London and channel 1,2,3..101..etc. will show your actual regional TV channels but in the iPlayer app you set that region to be e.g. Wales or whatever and when you want to watch BBC Wales you just launch the iPlayer app and view the live channel of BBC Wales. It doesn't work for everything but a handy little workaround for the BBC channels at least.
