I was watching my youview when suddenly the screen went blank on my tv and my tv said no signal was being recieved.
I tried switching the box off and on but that didn't work.
I tried a different HDMI cable and port that i use for another device and still nothing.
I dug out a old scart cable just to see if that would work and i was able to get a signal.
When i connect the box via HDMI my tv recognises it and it comes up in the menu but when i select it i get no signal.
Is there anything i can do to try and fix this?
Which Youview box model do you have (it should be on the back of the box if you don't remember) ?
If you power off the Youview box and wait 30 seconds before powering back on do you see the any of the Youview or BT TV loading screens ?

Yes i tried switching off and leaving it for 30 seconds, no joy. My TV recognises that a device is connected to the HDMI port (HDMI 3 in my case) but it doesn't get a picture it just acts like nothing is connected.
I can only get a picture if connect the scart cable but obviously the picture quality does not compare to HDMI.
Anyone?
YouView box is probably broken.
Hi @BrickSmith,
I would agree with @Keith_Beddoe, it does sound like the Youview box is faulty. If you are still under contract for your BT TV service, I'll be able to help you get a replacement box.
You can send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods" link found in my profile.
Thanks
PaddyB
I am still under contract, what kind of details would you need?
Would i have to pay for a new box?
Just provide the information requested on the contact form that @PaddyB provided.
Provided you stay in a contract, there should be no charge for a replacement box.
