Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

So why can’t my Sky Q box pick up my Wi-Fi network. Everything else I’ve got in my house picks it up. I’m not happy. Having to setup my old network. So that I can watch tv once again.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

  • Complete wifi seems a good idea to improve wifi as my wifi in the house goes slow once in a while but I’m not willing to upgrade to that for the extra cost per month. Over £60 a month and I would still have the BT TV price for my package on top of that even with my BT TV discount. I’m just not willing to pay over £80 a month for all my BT services.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

Hi @Medcraft - follow the steps on the Broadband troubleshooter and if you've still got wi-fi issues we'll send you an extra disc.  http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9941/~/troubleshoot-bt-phone-and-broadband-faults (if the link doesn't work - search BT Troubleshooter / Call 0800 800 150 and our help team will support quickly)

SkyQ sets up another Wi-Fi network in your home from their first box (so even though Complete Wi-Fi has delivered wi-fi to every room your set top box is probably trying to connect to the first sky box in your home) - it's worth getting in touch with them.  Or, if it's near your Compelte Wi-Fi disc connecting it using an ethernet cable should work (as long as the Disc is still in a decent location).

I hope that helps - clearly you still need the better wi-fi and the TV you're paying for!

Cheers

Luke

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

I'm interested in the Complete Wi-Fi system as I'm hoping it will be more stable than my current WholeHome setup.  I currently have 6 discs scattered around the house as well as providing coverage to an outbuilding that is my garden office.   The house is only a two storey Victorian terrace but the walls are hefty in places and I had to keep adding WH discs to get full coverage.

I'm somewhat concerned that the new system won't reach my office and that by ordering the Complete WiFi I'll have to go through the whole rigmarole of trying getting hold of extra discs straight away just to get coverage where I need it (and am 99.9% certain one disc on its own won't reach).  Is there a way to get the extra disc(s) straight away or do I have to take down my WholeHome network and then wait X weeks (X = >1 <100) before I can get extra discs and restore my household network coverage?

On another matter - does the new system properly support AirPrint?  WholeHome currently doesn't (in my experience) unless the printer is located near the wired disc.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

Hi @stickybloke

I print from my iPad all the time. This is with the iPad connected to the SH2 or Disc. The printer HP7800 is connected to the SH2 by WiFi 5GHz.

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

Thanks. Used to work fine on my WholeHome system when the printer was located near the first, wired disc. Now it's sited near another disc AirPrint no longer works when the iPad/iPhone is connected elsewhere on the network. Good to know it functions with the new system - cheers!

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

I had connection with Bt hub 5 and had no problems at all. I have now upgraded to smart hub 2 with black discs extensions. Now I have problems with Alexa echo plus and ech dot. They continue to connect to the hub and access the internet but they no longer recognise or control my smart devices such as sockets and light bulbs. When I switch back to hub 5 everything is ok. Why am I having problems with the new hub when it is advertised as future proof etc . Can you help me to control my smart devices?

Re: Introducing Complete Wi-Fi from BT

@Mickeydoo1234 Have you gone through the set up process with the Echo devices using the Alexa app to associate them with the new network?
