Offhand and not being to test your line myself, no.
If its not causing you problems don't worry about it.
I note that your hub's firmware was updated 5 days before your post to version SG4B1000E020. After the same upgrade my speed dropped from 38+ Mbps to 26 Mbps and the line attenuation leapt from 26 dB to 45 dB ... similar to your experience? (see my post at https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Fibre-broadband/Higher-line-attenuation-amp-amp-lower-speed-after-BT-...). I wonder if that's a coincidence or if there is something in that firmware upgrade that has affected the line characteristics...?
It must be firmware, I have recently upgraded to a third party TP-Link router.
All of my problems are solved and I am now getting 38mb/s, faster than ever. Sometimes, speed peaks at 44 mb/s.
Line attenuation now 17.9db, down from 45+.
I really recommend it, 2 minute set up and modem is built in.
I was getting frustrated with BT problems, but it is not the networks' fault... it is their hubs!
before new router
After new router... TP link
Does a new router help if the connection is somehow appear banded ? Banding is done not on the router is it ? Or will it reset the connection from scratch ?
That firmware update has caused these issues. There are quite a few on here with the same problem ( which I also have )
Maybe, just maybe is was designed to throttle back the whole BT band width to allow more users working from home to get access during this Covid-19 issue.. Who knows, but when that update happened things changed for lots of people and depending how good your speed was before you may not of noticed it, but lots have...
