If BT mail is incompatible with Apple Ipad, that's just how the cookie crumbles.

I can only assume that that is an entirely satirical response. A modern e-mail system that cannot work across platforms - surely you jest?

I have to  say  currently that I have no issues  and everything is  working  fine with BT Mail.....maybe its  time to look at issues being experienced by some users as  not being BT related.

After the initial problems the "upgraded email" is working for me. I use two iPads, an iPhone and and Apple Mac Book.  At  times I log onto the  web version just to  check if I am missing something, but across all systems it works. There are some things which Yahoo provided, BT doesn't so I just have to get on with what I have now. Do appreciate this is of little or in fact no help to all of those who are experiencing multiple problems.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

It's not fit for purpose.

No prior warning of the change.  Just one last email saying that the BT Yahoo app had ceased working and to install the new app.

Spam filter doesn't work and it deletes spam after 30 days.  So I've lost a load of emails that I actually needed.  Meanwhile it's allowing through emails pretending to be from BT, about a billing problem with my account and to update my billing details.

Contacts aren't showing up in the Android app (Android 9 Pie updated to April 2020).

Due to problems with the BT Email app.  I co-installed the Gmail app to have my BT log in details.  So that I could use that to send emails.  But it keeps randomly coming up with authentication errors.  Works fine, then stops "check password and username".  Then it randomly starts working and then stops again.

You click through the help topics to find some help.  But all of the help topics about email have been removed.  With just a message saying that there's no topic, error code N/A

Then to top it off.  Every time that this message gets auto saved.  It drags you to a different part of the screen.  If you're editing part of the middle.  It drags you to the bottom.  If you're writing at the bottom it drags you to the middle.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

There is absolutely no need to use the BT app, its just that you can't use the Yahoo app because it is locked to Yahoo. There are a myriad of apps you can use, I use Blue mail others recommend Aqua Mail.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@Barnsworth

Evening.

I don't know if this is any help but the new BT email seems to work ok with my ipad mini using OS 12.4.6

I would point out that I use it for simply checking emails and nothing more, no searching, no oragnising folders, only simple compiling of simple emails and never any attachments, but it works in a basic form.

I can only apologise for the unhelpful comments you have been sent on this forum.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I also use Blue Mail, and did so back in BT Yahoo days, but it's a shame that BT's app is as bad as its Webmail. Using other people's front ends is fine, of course, but it's a shame BT can't get this right. Frankly it's own Web site is pretty poor as well.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Blue mail is by far the best email app for Android. Email address will autofill if there are previous emails to that address. Plus also if that contact has been added to Google contacts.

  I've never known the BT email contact list to be available on Android.

@goldmankind @Jules68

TheBT Yahoo! used to work fine for me.  And would start to autofill email addresses/contact names perfectly.  Although of course Yahoo! got hacked, in what was then the biggest loss of usernames and passwords ever.

But I'll be trying the Blue Mail app and seeing how it goes.

FFS I spend my life on message boards and this is by far and away the worst one that I've ever come across.  Due to the way that BT has screwed it up and made it unintuitive and a complete PITA.
