Re: NHS . Check your landline package or expect a bill .

I am currently at home with covid 19 symptoms. My wife a hospital employee who has been forced to self isolate . On Monday morning she was on the landline 90 minutes setting up through IT department to work from home . We have since found out that this incurred a £17 bill . Please check your package before working from home , as after waiting an hour to speak to BT we only got an £8 refund .

Re: NHS . Check your landline package or expect a bill .

They should be capped at £5! (Even that is not right)!

We’ll help you with costs

We’re removing all caps on all of our broadband packages so every customer has unlimited data during this time.

For our BT landline-only customers we will cap the charges of calls to all UK landlines and mobiles to £5 a month, so they can make the calls they need to without worrying about their bill. (This doesn’t include international calls and premium calls).

We’ve also made all visits to the NHS online free, so you won’t use any data while accessing information (even if you’ve already run out completely). And as always, calling 111 is free.

Re: NHS . Check your landline package or expect a bill .

I have never been on or contributed to any forums but all that is promised it seems by BT has clearly gone wayward in our case . So I would like to say again to everyone in the NHS working from home . Look at your call costs carefully .

Hi @DannyMK and welcome.

This doesn't sound right at all. I'll be happy to take a look at this for you. I've sent you a private message explaining how you can contact the forum moderation team. Just drop me over a reply with the details and we’ll check it out.

Cheers

They're not a landline only customer by the looks of it as he's talking about getting a connection for work so looks like they have broadband as well so the landline only cap wouldn't apply in this situation.

It looks to me like the old calling plan for free up to 1 hour has potentially came into effect here but that's just a guess
