New Smart Hub looks to be blocking onedrive

For some reason I think my Smart hub 2 is blocking connections to Microsoft onedrive. 

The reason I think its the smart hub is that when connected to wifi i can't reach the following URL. 

https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-gb/

I get the error mesage

Cannot securely connect to this page

This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner.

Regarless of which browser I use - I get the same issue. I thought it was the Laptop so went onto the my mobile but got the same issue. I then though - drop the wifi on the phone and try again - as soon as I go to 4G I get straight onto the login page.  This proves the Website is Ok and the Laptop is OK - as its doing it on the phone, so the only thing I can see in common is the Smart Hub 2. I've only had it for three weeks and didn't have the problems before.

Any Idea's?

Not exactly sure about the live.com link which you have posted. I get the same error message.
Have you tried connecting through your Microsoft account?
A quick google search will direct you.

Yes, which ever way you connect to a microsoft account you still get blocked via the onedrive link

login.microsoftonline.com is another URL which once you login, has a link to Onedrive - which when you click - you get the same issue. 

https://outlook.live.com/mail/inbox is similar as, when you click on the waffle icon in the top left you get the option for Onedrive - same issue

found out whats blocking it....... I turn off BT Web Protect and I can get straight through to the sign in page.

I take it that you are not using Windows 10, or MS Office?
There’s no reference to live.com on Office Windows 10. However turning off Web Protect seems to have fixed the problem. Hope you have a suitable antivirus software.

I'm using windows 10, a full licence to o365 and would expect the BT Web Protect not to block it to be honest.

if you go via https://www.office.com/ then you get the same- its BT web protect that is blocking it for some reason.

Is there a way to add a trusted site to the web protect?

That’s odd. Using Office 365 here, Windows 10.
I’ll look into it....
It’s difficult on a hand held device, and will look into it on the pc.
(Presumably you have turned off Smart Setup on the Smarthub settings).

It's a muddle at the moment, but the link that you have posted is a dud. It's probably outdated, or it's one of those mysteries.. You may find some info on MS Forums.

Try this one. https://account.microsoft.com/account/onedrive

(as posted the link isn't active for security reasons - copy and paste into your browser).

There's also the alternative to download the Onedrive App from MS App store. 

As a user of Office 365, it's easy to save a file to Onedrive by selecting :-
File> save as>Onedrive.
I then repeat the process after closing down Office and opening up the BT Cloud shortcut to sync manually.
This is ok for saving and updating on a routine basis.  If you want to view your files on another pc, then you need the Onedrive App  (or alternatively the BT Cloud App).
Even my own  pc Onedrive shortcut is out of date, and will eventually get round to deleting/updating it, but files are safely stored for access from other devices, or even for recovery in case of mishap. 

I'll check for info on Web Protect, but I use Internet Security Software from another supplier, so Web Protect isn't needed.
Will keep you updated.

More information:- Disregard the previous link posted, for the moment, as it's mainly promoting Windows Store application.
There may have been a recent change to Onedrive, in addition to the changes from Windows 7/8.

A search on Microsoft website gives the following info for Windows 10 pc users.

In the start menu open up the Onedrive app (this is listed just below the Office app).

Sign in and go through the options to set up.
(I select option to disable the app on startup.
BT Web Protect is active on my pc, and this sign in method still functions.)
