Need some help with the contact names and details when I try to send an e-mail.
If I type the name of the contact , I find on the drop list, name and contacts that are wrong and that I've previously deleted from my contac list.
There is anyway to clean up this drop down and keep only the correct contact names ?
Log onto your email account and click on the "Contacts" button in the menu bar. Once there if you click on the "Auto Complete" button at in the right hand column. Select the contacts that you no longer want to be in your auto complete list and then click on the "More" button above the list and click delete.
This will only delete them from the Auto Complete not from your contacts list.
I've tried to follow the steps that you have suggested but the wrong contacts are still on the drop out list when I try to send e-mail
If the "wrong" contacts are still in the drop down list after you have deleted them as I previously described you should log out of your email account and then try clearing the history and cookies from your web browser before logging back in.
The auto complete list is only added to when you have replied to a previously received email address.
You also need to make sure that the "Auto Complete" box has been ticked in the account settings. You can do that by clicking on your user name at the top right hand side then going into settings then "contacts" in the right hand column.
It may also be worth going through your contacts list and delete any of your "old" contacts from there.
I've now tried all the action suggested on your last reply but the wrong contacts are still on the drop down when I type the name of the recipient for the e-mail.
I don't know what to do to get rid of these wrong contacts

I'm not able to delete wrong contact details : when I tried e to send e-mail to X,Y,Z names , the drop down contains many wrong, old names .
These wrong contacts are not on my contact list and they're not on my auto complete list .
What shall I do to delete them from the drop down list ?
I have moved the above post onto your own thread. Please do not post the same question in multiple threads. It only causes duplication of effort and anybody who may be able to assist can see what has already been tried by you if it is all in the same place.
The issue here is not where I post my question but that I cannot get help to sort out such a tedious issue .

This is a BT residential customer to customer forum. Your post does not go to BT. The only BT staff are the forum moderators who do not necessarily read all the posts.
As such it would appear that none of the forum members have the answer that you seek.
Have you tried contact BT 0800.800.150 and asking for the email team to see if they can help?
