Why swap the 4th ethernet port with a WAN port, what use is that what do I do with the WAN port, leave it empty?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @NevUK The latest smart hub 2 has a setting to allocate the 4th Ethernet port as WAN or Ethernet port.
Home -> Advanced settings -> Broadband -> Full Fibre (FTTP) Mode.
The only time you should have a home hub with a dedicated WAN port (coloured red) is if you have FTTP which requires a WAN port. Otherwise as @@VeteranISPUser says, the 4th port is dual purpose
Thanks for reply, please explain dual purpose.
