WiFi ping issues

So I have been a BT customer for a couple months now and I live on a farm. I am aware I wont get the best wifi experience due to my remote location however the connection I get is appalling.

Most of the day my connection pikes from 30 ping to over 1000, and this is me using my PC that is connected via Ethernet. I have gotten rather frustrated recently because I purchased a new router (bt smart hub that replaced my bt hub home 4) and although the speeds are better, I still have the issue of my ping and speeds being all over the place every other minute.  I am getting very worn out about this, we have had a technician over a couple months ago 3 times, which only upped the speeds on the first visit and served for nothing the next couple times.

I am not sure if i need to switch certain stuff on my Hub settings or if it seems to be a wiring issue, either way some help on this matter would be greatly appreciated since at this point I cant watch a youtube video without it buffering, very disappointing. I have not informed BT of our new hub, if that means anything but i honestly am praying that there is some way to get a more stable connection so i can at least video call friends.

Here are my speeds at the best stable time of day: 7.00 Mbps download 0.38 upload 32 ping

@CrispyCC

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Then there is something very wrong with your phone line, as the number 17070 is an Openreach test number used by BT retail.

That would suggest that you may have a crossed line.

What do you get if you dial  150?
