Wifi Disc pairing problem - it doesn’t

Go to solution
I cant pair my WIFI disc with my Smart Hub 2
I followed the video and connected with Ethernet.
I got an “Excellent” location, but even leaving it by the hub, it doesn’t pair. Red light flashing slowly.
If I then switch the disc off and back on, it goes solid blue, but fails to pair and ultimately goes back to Red flashing.

@hallsworthb  Sorry about that, did you try to pair them using the MyBT app first?

This is the process to pair them without the app.

  1. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the yellow ports at the back of the Smart 2 Hub
  2. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the yellow port at the back of the Wi-Fi Disc
  3. The light on the Wi-Fi Disc will start flashing blue. After a couple of minutes it will turn solid blue
  4. You can now unplug the Ethernet cable. The light flash red and within a few seconds turn solid blue
  5. You can now unplug the disc from the mains and plug it in at your preferred location in your home

I am having the same problem. Initially when I received the 'Smart Hub 2' and 'Wi-Fi Disk' everything set up with ease. However the 'Wi-Fi Disk' disconnected from the network at some point (Nothing has changed from the initial set up, nothing moved, added or changed) and now will not reconnect. I have tried resetting the Disk and starting afresh by connecting directly to the hub using an ethernet cable and the disk responds by turning on a solid blue light after a couple of minutes however when I disconnect the ethernet cable the light turns red and flashes no matter how long I wait.  I have gone through the set up procedure multiple times with the same end results.

Re: Wifi Disc pairing problem - it doesn’t

Hi, I received a replacement 'Disk' however the pairing problem is still there with the new disk as it was with the old one.

I have tried turning off my 'SmartHub 2' for a few minutes and then turning it back on before once again trying to pair up the 'Disk'. Initially with the ethernet cable attached the hub light turns to a constant blue after a few minutes but when I disconnect the ethernet cable the light turns to a flashing red after a couple of seconds and remains a flashing red.

I have not tried a full reset of the 'SmartHub' as I have quite a few port forwarding rules set and don't want to lose them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just 'Bit the Bullet' and reset my Smart Hub (after saving the settings to an external file) back to factory settings. Reloaded my personal settings for port forewarding etc then tried to set up my WiFi Disk and it was succesfull.

So the problem must have been some corruption within the Smart Hub 2. I will monitor the situation over the next week or so but I have every confidence that all will be ok from now on.

Ihad the same problem as Jim. Had to factory reset the Smart Hub 2, then factory reset the first dsic (which was paired successfully originally), and then reset the second disc (which was the one causing the issues). Only by factory resetting all three in that order did everything work together.

I have the same issue, 3 disc pack and 2 disc pack plus One disc (total 6).  BT Hub 5 on 70 meg BB.  5 Discs work fine, the 6th disc turns blue when wired to the hub but turns red as soon as it is disconnected.  Tried resetting the disc several times.
