My "Sent" box is empty.
Why have they all been deleted?
How can I recover them?

Notwithstanding questions asked elsewhere about other devices accessing the email account, there have been cases where somehow the emails are not showing in a particular folder, then after a while (a few days?) the emails suddenly appear. Not sure how this would interfere with imap access and webmail access together ...
As you're the second person to post about this issue in a week, maybe there are others watching this forum and have the same issue - and if that's the case they could add to the "list". Of course, it could be a pure coincidence.
However, it doesn't answer the question.
To me, this is one of those cases that the moderators should take on board and with the user's permission investigate the account to see if anything is wrong. Of course, it then depends on whether you trust BT not to delete other emails in other folders ....

Yes,agree, but how can the MODs get involved?
I would welcome them to investigate my account where I've lost all of my SENT mails.
Could you please get word to the MODS to obtain some action as many people could be affected?
I have already asked the question and I am waiting for a reply from the moderators. If and when they respond I will let you know.

Something strange is going on.
Just viewed my SENT mail via Thunderbird & mails are showing from yesterday/today.
Then looked at SENT in BT Yahoo -- totally blank
Went back to Thunderbird & that is now empty!
Please advise what actions are in progress.
I will try to send this as PM to Paddy as it's new information.

That info seems to imply that a sync has occured, deleting the sent box in TB - as there are no sent items left via webmail access.
I could be wrong, but ditch btinternet emails and use Gmail

Thanks for your thoughts, but:-
1 I would prefer that BT sorted the problem, but agree that the T/Bird mails were removed just after I looked @ the BT Yahoo mail site.
So the problem looks to be that for some reason BT Yahoo mail in SENT is being deleted after "X" days.
2 I don't know how to switch to GMail, as I use Thunderbird

After conversations with BT E Mail team arranged by the Mods. Contact has been made with Yahoo & overnight my "Sent" folder has been restored.

Did BT (or Yahoo) explain what the issue was, or why is occured?
It makes you wonder how many more people have had this problem and not known what to do, or possibly worse - fobbed off by the helpdesk.
We need answers BT, so that if this happens again - a quicker resolution can be found. Although not a common issue, others have reported similar in the past.
