Hi, have been experiencing poor service, that seems to start during heavy wind/rain. Dial tone on phone line has crackly noise. Broadband service drops out repeatedly and download speed significantly reduced. Looks like BT have increased the noise margin to 18db to stabilise the service, certainly not dropping the connection as much. The phone line is around 1 mile from cabinet, overhead through trees. The crackle on the phone line, stops roughly 24 hours after rain/wind. I am now left with the following config on the broadband service:
19-May-2022
1.0
1.126.0
1 Days, 18 Hours 26 Minutes 58 Seconds
1.29 Mbps / 11.40 Mbps

So, what to do?

if you have noise on your phone line then report phone fault to 151 or 0800800151
I have done that, as I say the noise is intermittent. I guess the answer to my problem is to get bt to force openreach to repair and/or replace my line....
if you reported phone fault did you get openreach visit? if so what did openreach engineer do to fix problem?
Engineer booked at least twice, no show so far - getting rather annoyed......
@djvoas I'm really sorry the engineers haven't shown up, that's not acceptable. I've sent you a private message so you can get send over your details to the moderation team and we'll be happy to help.
Thanks
Neil
@NeilO I have replied as requested. Is it possible to request a new copper line into a new master socket at my property?
Yes, if you order and pay for a second line.
Thanks @djvoas, no I'm sorry that's not something we can request. Openreach decides what's required in order to repair the fault.
Thanks
Neil
tvm - any idea on cost?
