Fibre cable

Go to solution

I understand I can get a petition with everyone on my street signing to try and get open reach to put fibre in. Is this true and if so what’s it called

I followed the link but the site is not correct. I want to get a petition going to force a fine cable install

@Noodlz

That is the only option as far as I am aware.

Try asking Openreach https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support

This is just a BT Customer forum, and has no connection to Openreach.

Re: Fibre cable

This is a BT forum , not an Openreach one ,  you can’t ‘force’ Openreach to do anything , they are a commercial organisation and deploy FTTP when and where makes sense to them , there are ways you can express an interest , and as already stated possibly use the community funded approach ( if you intend to canvas your neighbours ) but you can’t , even if you have a petition with lots of names on it , force anything .

You can't force anything.

If you want to follow the process that @Keith_Beddoe linked to, then if enough of your neighbours commit to ordering an Openreach FTTP service, then Openreach might consider it if it makes economic sense.

Note that there is potentially a significant financial penalty for anyone failing to honour their commitment.
