The engineer installed new fibre broadband yesterday but it didn’t work ,
and he tried to fix it 2 hours, and find out it’s something wrong with sass which he cannot fix need somebody else to do the fix .
and it is in the evening as he cannot get hold of anybody but said will keep our old copper one active until the new fibre one works.
We let him leave but however shortly after he left out copper one stopped working .
This morning called bt to get the copper network back , but the man on the phone said we had fibre broadband already so no more copper.
And then on the phone he tried to give instructions to get the fibre one working, only it’s a waste of time as the engineer yesterday already did his best and couldn’t get it work !
he said on the phone he can only send an engineer over to fix on the 20 which is more than 1 week away , so we would have no broadband until then still with uncertainty if it can be sorted .
I asked for give us old copper broadband back until it’s fixed , but he said no as it means to start a new contract .
And then I asked to give me a number to call to escalate the issue and get the copper connection back but he just transferred me to another line with nobody answering.
any suggestion as what I can do to get my broadband back for now until the new fibre is fixed ? I desperately need one as I need it for work next week
SASA , splitter array sub assembly …if you are the first customer on FTTP on your CBT , and that CBT was ( as an example ) connected to SASA1 instead of SASA2 at the splitter node , then your install will fail , because your FTTP appearance in the network isn’t where it was designed to be , so there is a mismatch between what was expected and what exists .. the fix is to either intervene in the network and in effect reconnect the CBT to its correct SASA ( splitter ) or get the records changed so that the appearance in the data records matches physical appearance ..it’s usually the case to get the records changed rather than revisiting the network infrastructure ..did the installer mention contacting the ‘Tiger’ team to get this records/data problem addressed ?.
In the short term , BT could provide you with a 4G mobile router that you use until your FTTP issue is resolved , unfortunately going back onto the copper network isn’t really an option although you are unlucky to have lost the old service , if the FTTP installation fails the copper service should remain ….was your transfer BT to BT ( copper to FTTP ) or where you with another company on copper ( not BT ) ?, if that’s the case the old company may have switched you off irrespective of the success or failure of the FTTP installation
I am with bt always so before the fibre it’s bt

As your copper contract was with Athena, they would have ceased it based on the date that BT told them, so it would not be possible to get it back.
You could ask BT to loan you a 4G Mini Hub, assuming you have 4G mobile coverage.
If you need the connection for work, then its prudent to have some form of backup connection, as fibre is not 100% reliable, and faults can take a long time to fix, owing to the complexity of the network.
If you are working from home for an employer, then it may be worth asking for a business connection, which has a faster repair time.
I need good network connection , so any option ok . “BT could provide you with a 4G mobile router that you use until your FTTP issue is resolved” so how can I get this ?
You need to ring them, they normally dispatch one within 24 hours.
They may suggest that you upgrade your package to include Hybrid Connect, which provides backup during any outage.
